Help Someone Special to Have the Perfect Happy Day!
To celebrate the annual International Day of Happiness, which takes place on 20th March 2024, we are asking people from across the Liverpool City Region to think about someone who deserves their dream Happy Day to come true. Your nomination could do just that!
WHAT IS A HAPPY DAY?
Do you know someone who could do with a Happy Day? We can create memories for a local unsung hero; someone who may have faced adversity or who is deserving of a nice treat.
You can make nominations for individuals from across Liverpool City Region (Knowsley, Sefton, Halton, St Helens, Liverpool and Wirral) for a chance for us to make their wish come true.
We hope to sprinkle a little magic stardust and make something special happen for those deserving of a Happy Day – their dream day. It might be a trip to the theatre coupled with an afternoon tea, a special night away with the whole family, a shopping spree and evening dinner – and many other memorable things they might wish for.

Happy Days Group founders & co-owners Alan Cosgrove and Peter Schriewersmann are passionate scousers (one of which has been adopted from Germany many years ago!).
They love to see the city develop and thrive – and see people fulfil their potential.
Having overcome their fair share of lows and adversity themselves, Alan and Peter decided it is time to give back to deserving local people who have gone or are going through tough times.
AWARD CATEGORIES
There are four awards available to grant the winner a Happy Day that they will always remember! Each of the awards fall into different categories, which the person nominating can specify in the nomination form. You can see the different award categories below.
LIVER CHILD AWARD
Child/young person aged 17 and under.
– Have an adventure at Go Ape, or try indoor skydiving, or get on track with a junior driving experience in one of your favourite supercars.
– Encounter some of your favourite animals up close with a unique experience at a farm or animal sanctuary.
LONE STAR AWARD
For an adult aged 18 – 64
– Step into nature with a day of foraging, cookery and lunch. Enjoy a day in the outdoors, followed by a spa experience, and meal.
– Visit your favourite city or explore a new one for the ultimate shopping experience, followed by dinner and tickets to the local theatre.
POOL OF LIFE AWARD
For an entire family.
– Take a behind the scenes tour of your favourite family theatre production, followed by a matinee performance and a family meal.
– Enjoy a family break away to somewhere that might let you explore local attractions, such as The Eden Project, Cadbury World or The Making of Harry Potter.
SENIOR SCOUSER AWARD
For an older person (aged 65+).
– Take a trip down memory lane and reminisce some bygone days visiting your favourite familiar sights. It might be a trip to Blackpool Tower Ballroom, with an opportunity to dance the day away to the sounds of the famous Wurlitzer organ, followed by Afternoon Tea.
– Reunite and reconnect with a long-lost friend or relative, at a place that means something to you. Travel in style to your chosen location, for a chance to catch up over Afternoon Tea or dinner.
